Theon completes purchase of MERIO and wins first contract

Theon International Plc has finalized the acquisition of an 80% stake in MERIO, following the receipt of all required approvals. The cooperation between Theon and MERIO had already commenced, with Theon’s international business development network capturing synergies from the acquisition.
Integration and New Orders
Theon has already received an order for approximately €5 million for MERIO’s solutions for unmanned aerial vehicle applications, representing about one-third of MERIO’s projected 2026 revenues. This order demonstrates the potential synergies that can be generated from the acquisition.
Theon’s strategy for acquisitions merges advanced technologies and innovative companies with its own global customer network and commercial expertise to drive expansion and enhance overall value. As part of this move, the company will now fully absorb MERIO’s business development, manufacturing, and operational functions into its operations.
Business Development and Growth
Philippe Mennicken, Theon’s Deputy CEO and Head of Business Development, stated: ‘Both Theon and MERIO teams have worked closely and collaboratively to uncover opportunities in business growth and research, and this initial contract serves as a promising early achievement.’ Theon’s global business teams will now engage MERIO in discussions and partnerships that were previously beyond their reach.
Christian Hadjiminas, Theon’s Founder and CEO, remarked: ‘Our mergers and acquisitions strategy goes beyond simply expanding our technological portfolio—it’s about maximizing value by uniting innovative firms with Theon’s long-standing customer relationships, commercial strengths, and industrial infrastructure.’ The company remains committed to supporting deeper collaboration within Europe’s defense sector.
Theon will release its Q3 2026 financial performance update on November 9, 2026, following market closing hours. With operations spanning Greece, Germany, France, and other regions, the firm supplies over 280,000 systems to military and special forces across 72 nations worldwide.
